It’s spring in Montecito and the pink has come alive in my garden. Memories of carrying heaps of the freshly cut flowers in a wicker basket as I walked down State street in the children’s fiesta parade.Yes- that was a real thing – long since gone but it reminds me of a more innocent time when 8 year olds could actually walk down city streets unsupervised. How lucky I was to have grown up in a place with virtually no crime and so much freedom.
